6) De Efteling – Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands
Efteling is the largest theme park in all of the Netherlands and it is also one of the oldest theme parks in the world. Since its opening in 1952 the park has welcomed over 100 million visitors. In the early days of the park Efteling was a nature park with a few attractions but since then it has evolved into one of the coolest theme parks in the world.
The park has an overall fantasy theme with all of its attractions based off of elements from ancient myths, fairy tales, fables and folklore. Much of the parks success is attributed to its unparalleled, high quality rides designs and architecture.
The park also spans a large 160 acres full of beautifully designed and well maintained gardens and greenery, adding to its fantasy theme and feel. Thrill seekers can also enjoy a number of different roller coasters at the park, including the Bird Rok, which is an entirely enclosed roller coaster.
There is much to see and do in the park and plenty of great restaurants and shops to get lost in as well. For the truly seasoned traveler Efteling is a must see destination fit for any bucket list.
