10) Disney’s Animal Kingdom – Lake Buena Vista, Florida
This incredible theme park was opened on Earth Day in 1998 as part of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The park is the 2nd largest theme park in the world, spanning over 500 acres. The park is also unique in that it is centered entirely around animal conservation, a philosophy near and dear to Walt Disney’s heart.
Many park goers know the park by its signature focal piece the “Tree of Life” which is a 145 foot sculpted, artificial tree. Guests at the park can enjoy a wide array of nature themed attractions in the parks 7 different areas including DinoLand USA, Discovery Island, Rafiki’s Planet Watch and more.
The park is also home to many different exotic plants and animals from all around the world. Visitors can travel through the jungles of Asia, African plains and even take a peek into the world of Avatar in the different park areas.
