Exploring Life And History In Placencia

The Caribbean Sea is definitely a place where most of us would love to go for a summer vacation, but picking out the right location on the right coast is not as easy of a task as it seems.

While those looking for parties and fun will choose the Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico, our sights have landed on Belize, or to be more precise, Placencia.

Prices To Die For

Placencia is a fairly small location when compared to other popular destinations in the area, which means it uses its beauty combined with cheap prices to attract tourists.

That being said, don’t be surprised to find $15-30 hostel rooms, while hotel rooms start at around $65-75.

Food prices are no different here, as there are many street food offers that won’t cost more than $4, as well as restaurant meals for no more than $20.

Endless Opportunities

Since Placencia is located on Belize’s coast of the beautiful Caribbean Sea, it’s only natural that the main things to do here are strongly linked to beaches and water.

Placencia stretches on 16 miles of beaches, which means the best way to get a good look at it is via sailing. Apart from that, there are many snorkeling and diving sites here, and fishing is a common activity.

But this is not all Placencia has to offer. This destination is also equipped with both history and preserved nature. If you don’t believe us, just check out the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, which is basically 150 square miles of tropical forests and Mayan ruins mainly inhabited by jaguars.
