Each USA city has its own thing. From the busyness of New York to the shining lights of Las Vegas, you can be sure you won’t find that ‘something’ any of these cities posses anywhere else. In autumn, however, these places change.
Fall is the time when most summer crowds are gone, the accommodation prices fall, and that local aspect of each city surfaces. With that in mind, here are a couple of American cities that are really worth visiting in autumn.
The best place to start your fall tour of the States would be in Denver. In October, the foliage takes center stage and literally transforms the city into this calm, wonderful place.
Later in the month, Denver is home to the famous Denver Oktoberfest, the Denver Beer Fest, and even the Great American Beer Festival.
Nothing goes together better than autumn and beer!
From here, you can move to Louisville, Kentucky. Here you’ll find a lot of bourbon – from the National Bourbon Heritage Month in September to Louisville’s 34-stop Urban Bourbon Trail, to the Down One Bourbon Bar & Restaurant which serves 160 bourbons.
Also, make sure to check out the Iroquois Park while here, as it’s really worth visiting at this time of year.
Finally, make a 180-degree turn and head to Santa Barbara, California. The so-called American Riviera is known for being one of most affordable places during fall, as hotels like the famous Four Seasons literally half their prices. This city is also close to the Santa Ynez Valley wineries, which really come to life during the fall.
