If you are lucky enough to get to go and explore this amazing Greek city, but your stay is limited to only a few days, you need to make the most of your short time in this stunning destination.
Day 2 is Adventure Day
With a full day at your disposal (provided you didn’t sleep in), take your time and carefully plan you day 2 which is reserved for excitement, adventure and some serious exploration.
Start your day with some strong and aromatic Greek coffee, in combination with delicious and exotic figs in honey at some the local eateries.
That will really get your ball rolling and prepare you for a visit to the sites and historical attractions around the Acropolis, which is a must while you’re in Athens.
Check out the magnificent ruins, the many temples including the Parthenon, as well as the Ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus. Don’t forget to visit the museums such as the Acropolis Museum, or the Museum of Greek Children’s Art, for those with the little ones.
Plaka and Anafiotika
If you want to really taste the local tradition and culture, and feel as part of this fascinating destination, keep some time aside to visit Plaka.
Make sure you grab a bite to eat at one of the local tavernas before and definitely pay a visit to the tiny neighbourhood of Anafiotika – an amazing and picturesque place adorned with incredibly attractive ancient monuments and colorful houses which vividly portray the beautifully diverse Greek culture.
