Napa Valley is considered to be one of the premiere wine regions in the world, where wine productions date back to the nineteenth century. Apart from being the posh place for wine lovers and undercover bourgeoisie alcoholics alike, it is one of the most beautiful locations in America.

It has a Frenchy-romantic feeling to it which Americans, like we all know, can’t resist.

Maybe they put something in the wine… Oh well, it’s definitely a place to be seen and a place for many activities to take place.

It’s not all about wining and dining. OK, it’s mostly about wining and dining but it can be a wonderful place to spend your vacations if you know what to look for (other than wine).

First of all, stop and smell the grapes and enjoy the view, and from a hilltop winery, if possible. The scenery is breathtaking and so charming, it will fill you up with sunshine and happiness. Or is that the wine buzz?

If you decided to take a trip in the summer, you probably won’t see the wonderful view from the crowd that’s blocking pretty much everything.

The best time to visit Napa is in September and October, which is also the harvest time so you’ll get to see a winery in action mode. Spring is also a great choice because the mustard plants are in bloom so it’s really a sight to be seen.

Picking which wineries to see can get a little tricky because there are so many! You have the older, more traditional and famous wineries and you have the younger, hip ones which have really neat programs. And sure, the older ones are a little bit more “touristy” but if this is your first time in Napa you can’t skip those.

Either way, a winery tour is a must-do, if not for the wine at least for the architecture. Some wineries have really cool and unusual styles to them, and if they’re open for public, take a look.

Probably one of the things to do in Napa that gets people really excited is the wine blending option at District 4 Wine. Sure, you can taste wine there (you’re in Napa, you can taste wine anywhere) but the ultimate fun things is to build your own wine blend!

Taste the different varietals and mix them in exact proportions to create your own favorite blend. Not to mention that you can take home 3 bottles of your blend and have your own little label. Super fun!

And the food? It’s amazing pretty much everywhere. There are lots of cuisines to choose from, and all of them go with different wine logically, so taste your way to heaven.

After eating everything in sight, you can explore the hills of Napa Valley, or spend a day at a luxurious spa, or take the Napa Art Walk. You will never get bored at Napa.
