The Walt Disney Company has announced that the Shanghai Disney Resort will be ready for a grand opening in June, 2016, after more than 10 years of planning and 5 years of construction.
The Shanghai Disney Resort will feature a Magic-Kingdom theme park with six themed lands, hotels, Disneytown, a dining, shopping and entertainment district, and a Wishing Star Park.
In its press release, the Walt Disney Company said: “Once operational, a visit to Shanghai Disney Resort will be unlike any experience in the world and will demonstrate Disney’s relentless innovation and famous creativity.”
The Shanghai Disney Resort will boast the longest parade route of any Disney parks, and will otherwise resemble California’s Disneyland and Florida’s Walt Disney World.
The guests will enter through an embellished corridor that will lead them to the central hub and the Magic Castle, from which there will be many paths for them to take to various attractions and rides.
The construction of the park is in its final stage, and once opened, the Shanghai Disney Resort will prove to be rather fascinating.
