The Beautiful Puerto Rico

Tropical rainforest, clear turquoise waters, palm-fringed beaches, genuine colonial buildings and a unique blend of Caribbean, Hispanic and American cultures – in one word: Puerto Rico.

The Free Associated State of Puerto Rico is a United States territory located in the northeastern Caribbean, east of the Dominican Republic, and west of both the United States Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.

The main reason visitors are drawn to this mesmerizing island is, not only to have the true Caribbean experience, but to be a part of this amazing mix of cultures and histories.

Pristine sands stretch from Rincón’s rip-roaring swells, all the way to the deserted and nearly intact shores of Vieques. Puerto Rico’s three rare bioluminescent bays beckon and the few are able to resist those dazzling glow-in-the-dark waters which make the nighttime kayak and boat tours downright unforgettable.

Inland is catching up quite well with its epic landscapes, multi-cultural attractions and the central mountain range which spawned dreamlike limestone caves and rugged forest trails. El Yunque National Forest, on the other hand, will redefine the word rainforest, with enormous waterfalls and caves adorned with ancient Taino petroglyphs.

Blend of Different Cultures

Puerto Rico combines three root cultures – Taino (an indigenous group), Spanish and African, with the modern notes of Latin America and the USA. The American influence is visible via shopping malls and basketball, Puerto Rico’s national sport, whereas the historical Spanish influence is still well preserved.

This blend of cultures spawned the country’s exotic music, unique cuisine and many interesting festivals.

Puerto Rico – your next destination.
